Big stars and big sequels is how to summarize this week's new films, coming to theaters on Jan. 20.

Underworld: Evolution Kate Beckinsale reprises her role as Selene in this sequel to the successful 2003 vampire versus werewolf film.

Match Point A return to glory of sorts for director Woody Allen, Match Point is the story of a tennis pro who falls for femme fatal Nola, played by rising star Scarlett Johansson.

The New World Colin Farrell stars as explorer John Smith in this most recent take on the legendary tale of Pocahontas. The movie also features Batman Begins star Christian Bale as John Rolfe.


Several blockbuster movies arrive on DVD Jan. 17, detailed here with any notable reviews/ratings they received upon release.

Two for the Money Al Pacino and Matthew McConaughey star in this tale of sports gambling gone awry. McConaughey plays a former college football star who is brought to the attention of businessman and bookie Walter Abrams, played by Pacino. Entertainment Weekly: C+ Ebert and Roeper: 2 thumbs up

The Man Unlikely partners Eugene Levy and Samuel L. Jackson hit the streets in The Man, another in a long line of buddy cop movies, but one where only one of them is even a cop. The Valley Vanguard: 2 stars Entertainment Weekly: D+ Ebert and Roeper: 2 thumbs down

Lord of War Andrew Niccol, the writer of The Truman Show and The Terminal, returns with Lord of War, which stars Nicolas Cage as an arms dealer on the run from an Interpol agent. The movie co-stars Ethan Hawke. Entertainment Weekly: D- Ebert and Roeper: 2 thumbs up
