Basketball fundraiser to support scholarship honoring memory of SVSU student
• Saginaw Valley State University will host its fourth annual fundraiser for the scholarship honoring Abou Traore, a beloved student whose spirit of service has endured after his death in a 2007 accident.
Contributions at the event — a “Pros vs. Joes” basketball game on Wednesday, April 21 at 9 p.m. — will help support the scholarship, and a $1 donation will be accepted at the door to the Ryder Center’s Cardinal Gym.
In addition, the recipient to this year’s award will be announced during halftime.
