Student group to host reception with Lansing legislators
The College Republicans of SVSU will host a New Year’s Reception from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 19. The reception will be held in the Curtiss Hall’s Alumni Lounge, and confirmed guests include state Sen. Roger Kahn and Reps. Ken Horn, James Stamas and Tim Moore.
Refreshments will be provided.

SVSU students and staff participate in Saginaw MLK march
About 25 students and staff at Saginaw Valley State University were to participate in Saginaw’s annual unity march today as part of Martin Luther King Jr. Day activities. The march begins at the Saginaw Arts and Sciences Academy at 9:30 a.m. In addition, Stuart Chipman, a sociology major from Sault Ste. Marie, and Vance Fulton, an accounting major from West Bloomfield, are scheduled to speak at a rally following the march.
The Office of Minority Student Services is coordinating SVSU’s participation in the event.
