Medical ethics to be explored
April 4, 2005 —
The ethical issues that underlie the use of science when practicing the art of medicine will be discussed during the Albert J. Beutler Forum on Ethics and Practice at Saginaw Valley State University.
Dr. David C. Parish, chief of the Division of General Internal Medicine at the Mercer University School of Medicine in Macon, Ga., will present "The Ethical Interaction at the Structure of Science and the Art of Medicine" Thursday at 7 pm in the Rhea Miller Recital Hall.
The key issues in medical science Parish will address include medical training, end-of-life ethics, and the changing nature of "facts" in medical history.
Parish is a national faculty member of the American Heart Association and co-directs the Code Pink Project, which is the world's longest running registry study of in-hospital cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
