Pianist to perform

Prize-winning pianist Lori Sims will perform at Saginaw Valley State University Saturday, April 16 at 7:30 pm in the Rhea Miller Recital Hall as part of the 2004-05 Rhea Miller Concert Series.
Sims has performed throughout America, Europe, and China including engagements with the North German Radio Orchestra in Hanover, Germany, the Israel Philharmonic, the Indianapolis Symphony, the Denver Chamber Orchestra and the Yale Philharmonic.
In 2000, she appeared as a recitalist and a master class artist at the Gilmore International Keyboard Festival.
Sims received the First Prize Medal at the 1998 Gina Bachauer International Piano Competition, where she also won the prize for best performance of a work by Brahms.
Sims received her master's degree from the Yale School of Music and is currently an associate professor of piano at Western Michigan University.
There is no admission charge and tickets are not required for the concert, but seating is limited.
