The Vanguard Vision
It’s a beautiful thing when we look
out for one another. As Cardinals
from another mother, we probably
can all agree that it’s nice to receive a
helping hand, a word to the wise, a polite
suggestion from time to time. »
I don’t know if it was a joke
or not, but I once saw an
advertisement in a newspaper
that read, “Lost Dog: black,
one-eyed, three-legged, Labrador
with half a tail missing – responds
to the name ‘Lucky.’” The
authors of such a joke, be it punk
kids or twisted Fate itself, lack
sophistication in their sense of
humor. »
College To Career
In these last two weeks, I had
the opportunity to listen to two
speakers about getting from college
to a career: one from Monster.
com, organized by Delta Sigma Pi,
and another named Lindsey Pollak,
organized by Career Planning
and Placement. Their messages
were important for all students
and caused me to do a lot of thinking. »

On Sept. 13, 2009, MTV hosted
the 26th annual Video Music
Awards in New York City. It’s a
time for artists to be appreciated
for their hard work and rewarded for
their talent. Once again, Kanye West
had to open his big mouth and put a
damper on the evening. »
