Saturday's game between the Cardinals and the Ashland Eagles was full of opposites.
The Eagles started hot, shooting 60 percent from the field in the first half. The Cardinals seemed to have no answer offensively as they only managed 25 percent of their shots from the field. The Cardinals went into the second half trailing 35-22. »
The Cards skated their way to victory in their last home game Friday afternoon against Holy Cross, winning 10-1.
During the first period, the Cardinals came out strong, scoring four goals and keeping the Saints off the board. Thirty seconds into the game, freshman forward Brandon Clary scored Saginaw's first goal assisted by sophomore forward Jason Sugden and freshman forward Chris Tibaudo. Sugden, new to the team this semester, clicked with those on his line as Clary and Tibaudo then assisted him for his goal at 2:55 in the first. »
