Baseball fans gathered at the Ryder Center Monday, as members of the Detroit Tigers stopped at SVSU as part of their annual statewide baseball caravan. Attendees were given the opportunity to see some of the 2008 squad up close, ask questions, and hear them talk about the upcoming season. »

Housing rates rise again for 2008-2009

SVSU housing costs will rise again for the 2008-09 academic year, as the University Board of Control approved rental rates increasing at an average of 2.5 percent. Freshmen will see roughly a three percent increase in cost while upperclassmen will pay between 1.15 and 2.27 percent more based on the housing unit in which they live. »

SVSU executives are receiving a pay raise this year after state budget constraints caused a salary increase to be put on hold last year. »

Plummeting bricks prompt safety questions

Construction prompting sets of scaffolding and questions by students is now in the last stages. Brick-work outside of Zanhow Library, Brown Hall and Science West - buildings that were erected as part of a single project in the 1980s - was almost fully completed in December, with a few minor items still in progress. »
