After the first of the year, SVSU students, staff, faculty and visitors are expected to limit smoking to select areas on campus. And according to university officials, enforcement of the policy is everyone's responsibility. »

Coffee makes a comeback: Starbucks opens

Settled snugly down the hall from the computer labs in Science East is the new Starbucks coffee shop. The atmosphere is consistent with any other Starbucks: cozy, artsy and sophisticated. But unlike other chains in the franchise, this one has SVSU students working behind the counter, showing off the skills they have learned in over 40 hours of training. »

Alternative breaks discussed at president's forum

Few students were drawn into the President's forum this month, but they were curious and determined.

Richard Hill, a second year student represented his Alternative Breaks group. With their group looking forward to spending time in Birmingham, Alabama on environmental issues, Hill wanted to help the SVSU community as well. »

Assault case resolved, but home invasion still under investigation

A domestic assault originally reported in the Vanguard on Oct. 22 has been resolved, but a home-invasion case that occurred in September is being investigated. »

Pippin to debut

SVSU's theatre department will debut its second production of the semester. Pippin, will open in the Malcolm Field Theatre on Friday, Nov. 30 at 8:00 p.m. The performance will run through Sunday, Dec. 9, with the final time scheduled for 3:00 p.m. that afternoon. »
