Anti-plagiarism program used by 15 percent of full and part-time faculty
Roughly 85-90 professors and teachers at SVSU - about 15 percent of the faculty - use the online plagiarism deterrent Turnitin.com in their classrooms, according to Diane Boehm, the site's license administrator at the University. »
Recently, SVSU abandoned the College Central Network online employment database in favor of the Cardinal Job Network, an online source that allows all SVSU students to upload resumes and view a list of employers in the surrounding area that are looking to hire. Among the network's features is an announcement feed upon login that shows any job fairs that are going on in the area and other such upcoming career events. »
At the most recent meeting of SVSU's Faculty Association, two members of the Committee for Academic Policy - which is tasked with setting the academic calendar for the upcoming school year - abstained from voting for the passage of the calendar, claiming that SVSU should close its doors in observance of Martin Luther King Day, as many of its sister colleges and public institutions do. »

Women's basketball team holding try-outs
The Women's basketball team will be holding open try-outs on Friday in O'Neill Arena, located in the Ryder Center, from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Girls who are interested in the opportunity to participate and compete at the college level are asked to attend the try-out. »
