Summer camps provide seasonal fun for area students
Summer camp is a time for young students to
explore and develop their interests. This summer,
SVSU will be hosting camps for these young students. »
Despite the recent announcement of an undergraduate tuition increase, administrators say SVSU remains committed to keeping education affordable.
On June 14, the Board of Control announced the budget for the 2011 fiscal year. The approved budget included a 5.9% tuition increase for undergraduate students. Students will pay $243.63 per credit hour for tuition and mandatory fees in comparison to $230 per credit paid hour last year. »
New construction and renovation projects have already begun, promising a more efficient layout, more space and more direct contact between administrative offices and students. These projects require a total of $13.5 million dollars financed by the University reserves for capital projects and Auxiliary Systems. »
For the 2010-2011 school
year, students will notice
fewer freshmen around the
SVSU campus.

not anticipating to grow our
incoming freshman class for
the Fall 2010 term over the
freshman class that we had
last year in 2009,” said Jennifer
Pahl, Director of Admissions. »
Internships and co-ops
are putting students to work
in their careers this summer.

may give students the edge
they need in a competitive job
market. »

off for students in the 11th class of the
Roberts Fellows, who just returned from
a 17 day trip to Asia. »
The English Language
Program (ELP) is taking a new,
more interactive approach to
planning entertainment this season
with the Celebrate Summer Club.
This student group is sharing
ideas for ELP-sponsored activities
and trips taking place from now
until the middle of August. »

Thanks to SVSU’s Teaching English
to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL)
program, the 2007 SVSU graduate will
venture to Ulsan, South Korea, with his
wife to teach English. »
