Men go up a level, finish ninth at Loyola

Competing in a race with mostly Division I teams, the SVSU men's cross country team took ninth place on Saturday in the Gold Men's Division of the Layola Lakefront Invitational.

Senior Paul Jozwiak led three Cardinals who finished in the top 50, taking eighth with a time of 25:10. Junior Nick Krus took 20th with a time of 25:32, while senior Brandon Johnson finished at 25:42, good for 26th.

SVSU earned 193 points, while first-place Grand Valley State finished with 42. The next closest team was Southern Illinois, with 128 points.
