Muslim opinion disrespectful to campus audience

As a dedicated reader of the Valley Vanguard, I have found several articles that have made me think and even amuse me. However, there are some articles that make my skin crawl and make me want to twinge. That article was written by Paul White on Sept. 25.
I understand that he is entitled to his opinion and that is why his article made its way into the opinion section of the paper. But I found that, with the tension on this campus, it was one opinion that he should have kept to himself. I am referring to the fact that being a friend to several Muslims here on campus, I was deeply offended by his opinions. My opinion of this article is that it was an opinion that was stated at the wrong time and either should have been scrapped or tabled to a later date. Saudi Arabian students here have been given a negative reputation on campus and it is a shame. They are all wonderful people and really nice and kind. It is because of opinions like those of White's that makes them feel unwelcome. Overall, I thought it was an article that should not have appeared in last week's Vanguard.
