Get your bearings

Take a journey around campus with this reference map and you'll know your way in no time.
Our campus has grown greatly in the last decade. Take advantage of SVSU's modern facilities and take special notice of our staff's favorite places.
- Doan Center/Student Center
The RFoC is the main eatery on campus and resides in Doan Center. Most of the food there is pretty good, and we particularly recommend making your own sandwiches. The Cardinal Cage is here, too. Ping Pong is a favorite amongst students. - Curtiss Hall
Curtiss Hall houses the offices of several organizations and departments, including the Valley Vanguard, the Student Association, and Career Planning and Placement. After your big interview, catch an episode of Grey's Anatomy on the big screen TV in Groening Commons. - Performing Arts Center
Dozens of musical performances and presentations are held in the Rhea E. Miller Recital Hall while the Malcolm Field Theatre for the Performing Arts hosts many plays. Across from the Theatre is the SVSU Box Office which is located at the Information Desk. - Regional Education Center
SVSU's newest building houses classrooms and lecture halls, and is also host to the Alan W. Ott auditorium. The Apple Slice is the building's eatery. - Pine Grove Apartments
Pine Grove offers apartment-style living for students. The complex has a basketball and volleyball court, and is connected to campus by a sidewalk trail. - Founders Hall
The cabin-like Founders Hall hosts a number of small events such as poetry readings and lectures. Those looking to get hitched will be pleased to hear that the hall is also rented out for weddings. - Arbury Fine Arts Center
This building houses the University's art and music departments, the Marshall M. Fredericks Sculpture Museum, and the University Art Gallery. The second floor is one of the quietest areas on campus this side of the library and is good for study or nap time. - Wickes Hall
Wickes Hall houses the Office of the Registrar, the Cashier's Office, the Academic Advisement Office and the Office of Financial Aid. The ITS help desk is on the second floor. The first week of school is usually a mad house for most Wickes offices and they are best avoided if you can help it. - Brown Hall
Brown Hall has faculty offices and classrooms and provides interior access to the Zahnow Library and Wickes Hall via a second floor concourse. There is another big screen TV and computer kiosks on the concourse as well. - Zahnow Library
SVSU's library houses the Student Technology Center and the Roberta E. Allen Reading Room, which provides the best view of campus. The Reading Room also has some of the most comfortable chairs on campus and is perfect for a nap as long as you can avoid snoring. - Pioneer Hall
Currently closed due to a complete makeover, Pioneer Hall is usually home to the University's engineering departments. We suggest checking out the Cardinal Formula Racing team, an organization that builds and races its own car. - Dow Doan Science Building
Science East is home to the most popular computer lab on campus. New computers should make logging in and out a little faster, though students should allow themselves a little extra time just in case. Science East is also home to the Writing Center and Math Resource Center for extra assistance in those areas. - Ryder Center
The Ryder Center for Health and Physical Education is the home of Cardinals athletics. The building offers a dance studio, swimming pool, racquetball courts, the Cardinal Gym and O'Neill Arena. Pay attention to practice times if you want to get in and play basketball. Racquetball courts are generally easier to gain access to. - Fitness Center
This wing of the Ryder Center is equipped with workout machines and free weights, and like most gyms, there are televisions and music to keep your mind off the burn. The Fitness Center can get very busy, particularly in the winter, so pay attention to and avoid the heavy traffic times. - Tennis Courts
The tennis courts are available for student use free of charge. - Athletic Fields
SVSU has multiple athletic fields, an archery range, the football stadium, and the track. Parking for the facilities is somewhat of a hike from Lot E but there is a new concessions and restroom facility being built if you need to use the restroom during that hike. - University Police
The University Police offer several services to students, including RAD rape defense classes and alcohol awareness programs. Parking Services is also located here, though parking tickets are paid at the Cashier's Office. - Temporary Engineering Facility
While Pioneer Hall undergoes renovation, engineering classes will be held in the old theatre building. It was renovated over the summer to accomodate increased usage. - Living Centers North & South
SVSU's traditional dorm complexes. Both buildings house lounges and public areas where students can gather. The Freshmen Suites are located adjacent to Living Center North, in the middle of campus. - University Village
The University's on-campus townhomes are two-stories and offer an alternative to traditional dorm life. There is also a trail that runs along the west side of campus that provides access to 7-Eleven.
