ITS implements password expiration policy

In order to improve system security, SVSU will soon institute a policy of expiring network passwords.

Passwords for network access, e-mail, Blackboard, and Cardinal Direct will expire Sept. 15 if they have not been changed in the last year. Those who have changed their password since Sept. 15, 2005 or change it before Sept. 15 will not be affected.

Also, starting this year, network passwords will become expired the day after graduation in December, May, and August. Advance notice will be e-mailed when possible.

To change a network password, students should go to svsu.edu/changepassword. A date of birth, the last four digits of your Social Security number, and your seven digit University ID number will be required upon change.
