Everyone knows things get a little hot and heavy around Valentine's Day, but we here at The Valley Vanguard were dying to know what products get the hottest. Trips to Lover's Lane of Saginaw and Deja Vu's Love Boutique proved to be very educational.
So what do people buy from Lover's Lane for the "big day?" The store says its top Valentine's item is the Edible Massage Kit. As the name implies, it is a set of scrumptious powders, oils and creams to fire up your romantic nights. The set comes pre-wrapped in a very attractive arrangement, a great gift idea for anyone who is running behind schedule this year.
There are some other incredible edibles as well. For instance, the store offers heart shaped suckers with suggestive messages. They may be just what you need to tell your significant other what is on your mind.
The novelty store also carries some pricier items for people who are really willing to give the big gifts this holiday. One adult "toy" in particular, The Decadent Indulgence, sells for about $90, but is apparently worth every penny. Around the store it is known as "the Cadillac of toys." Great for giving as a gift, even to yourself!
For the truly adventurous couple, they also sell a pillow called The Liberator. Though its many uses cannot be described here, it is also said to be well worth the money.
If you are in the market for something small but memorable, they also carry faux rose petals that are scented to smell like the real thing. This is a perfect way to set the romantic scene.
Lover's Lane has much more to offer, including costumes, DVDs, and some other unmentionables. They also have a great staff that is very well informed. Lover's Lane is open 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon to 6 p.m. on Sunday. The store is located on the corner of Bay and McCarty.
But let's not forget about the Love Boutique. Workers there say the big items this time of year are personal lubricants, which are a good idea for any couple.
The Boutique also says that costumes are a big hit for Valentine's Day. It is the perfect occasion to act out some of those more elaborate fantasies and they have everything you need to do so.

And of course, the truly adventurous can go into the club itself and get an eyeful of some of the most beautiful ladies that Saginaw has to offer.
The Love Boutique is open is open 10 a.m. until 2 a.m. Monday through Wednesday, 10 a.m. to 4 a.m. Thursday through Saturday, and noon to 2 a.m. on Sunday.
The Boutique is located inside Deja Vu, just down the street from SVSU.
