The Medical Technology Program, Relay For Life and various committee budgets highlighted the topics discussed during Monday's Student Association general House meeting.

A resolution to support the SVSU Medical Technology Program was passed. The resolution stated that the program is underdeveloped despite the fact that the job market in that field is excellent. The resolution supports the process of developing the program, adding faculty and creating internships at area hospitals.

It was also announced that the budget for Relay For Life has been increased, allowing for a more entertainment-based event.

SA also passed an overall revised budget and announced they still have room within the budget to grant money to registered student organizations.

"If you know any organizations that need some money," said Speaker of the House Andy Suszek, "let them know."

In addition, Campus Events Chair Beth Schafer was voted as the delegate for this month's Association of Michigan Universities (AMU) conference. The conference is a gathering of student governments from Michigan's public universities.

President Emily Hammerbacher also announced that Representative Nick Nowakowski had resigned, citing academics as his reason for resignation. Hammerbacher said the vacant representative seat will not be filled until spring elections.
