The SVSU Student Association will be hosting a masquerade ball at the Saginaw Temple Theatre on Friday, Feb. 10.
Scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m., the dance will cost $15 per person, or $25 per couple. Students wishing to bring a guest that does not attend SVSU can do so.
Dinner will be included in the price of the dance, which will also feature a live DJ and a magician.
SA will be providing the masquerade masks as party favors.
"(The masks) will be a fun way to get everyone involved and loosen up," says SA Campus Events Chair Beth Schafer.
Despite the theme, Schafer says students need not dress completely formal.
"We don't want students to think they have to be dressed as formal as possible," she explains. "If you've got the old prom dress from high school or the suit you wore to your cousin's wedding once, wear that."
Parking will be free at the parking ramp across the street from the Theatre. Schafer says parking will be validated.
Tickets are available for purchase at the SA office, Curtiss 118, the SVSU Box Office, or the Box Office's Web site, www.svsu.edu/events.
The dance was announced at the SA meeting on Monday. An updated version of the SA budget was distributed at the meeting, and with the organization well under budget, Schafer says the dance will be one of many activities being put on this semester.
