Senior citizen commentary rings true

I'm a member of Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at SVSU and have been taking classes this term - last week I happened to pick up a copy of The Valley Vanguard and noticed Jason Wolverton's commentary titled "Senior citizens show they can behave badly as well" from the Oct. 31 issue.
First off, I will turn 63 in just a couple of weeks, so I am one of those "seniors." Second, I must congratulate Jason on a very well written piece of satire. He reminded me of the reason that I avoid, like the plague, any situations which would involve me going out to eat with more than one other person.
I well remember the embarrassing events of my early teaching career in Bay City when all the female teachers would descend in a horde on a non-suspecting restaurant and proceed to make a "spectacle" of themselves. Ugh! Even the memory of those events is revolting - and that all happened almost 40 years ago! With time I'm sure the innate female instinct of one-upping and out-yelling must make for a terrifying scene. At any rate, I am keeping his commentary to brighten my day when I need a good laugh. Keep up the good work. I'll continue to pick up the Vanguard just to read his commentaries.
