Printer-Friendly ModeFood Fest to be held Tuesday in RFoC

Foods from 17 different countries will be featured at the International Food Fest, being held tomorrow in the RFoC from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
This year's Fest will take on a different shape from years past when it was held in Groening Commons. Instead of just sampling the food, those attending will be able to eat as much as they like. However, the increase in quantity does come with a charge, as the cost of entry is $6.50 or one meal on a meal plan.
The list of countries participating this year includes Ghana, India, Iran, Kenya, and Japan. Over 40 different foods will be offered, including ice cream, a Food Fest first.
The RFoC will not be serving its usual menu during the Food Fest, so students wanting hamburgers and fries will have to wait until after the Food Fest concludes. However, those scared of trying new foods should find comfort in knowing the United States will be represented and serve an early Thanksgiving of turkey with stuffing and pumpkin pie.
Dining Services marketing manager Heidi Shattuck says the format change for the Food Fest will be a benefit for those who attend.
"We are excited that it will be in the RFoC this year," Shattuck says. "The students that attend will be able to experience the cuisines on a larger scale than in previous years."
