Dining areas to accept credit
September 26, 2005 —
Dining Services held its first Food Forum of the semester Wednesday and also announced that credit card machines would soon be available for use in all campus dining locations.
The machines will be ready early next month, says Heidi Shattuck, Dining Services' marketing manager.
"Dining Services is always looking to provide more convenient services to our campus community," she said. "This is just another way for us to do so."
MasterCard, Visa and Discover credit cards will be accepted as well as any debit card with a Visa or MasterCard logo.
A number of students issues were addressed at the Food Forum, such as creating more meal plan options in the future and addressing the possibility of students taking food out of the RFoC.
In addition, Dining Services staff expressed a need to inform students that they have the ability to swap one of their meal plan meals for breakfast at Einstein's Food Court. According to Ron Portwine, director of Housing and Auxiliary Operations, some parents have expressed concern that their children cannot get an early breakfast since the RFoC does not open until 10 a.m. However, Einstein's Food Court opens at 8 a.m., and students can elect to eat breakfast there.
The next Dining Services Food Forum will take place Tuesday, Oct. 18 in the Multi-purpose room from 2 to 4 p.m. Refreshments will be served.
