Arrests
• Two males were arrested and taken to jail Sunday, Nov. 8, after they tried running from police officers.
University Police received a phone call at 3 a.m. saying a fight was taking place at a point between Living Centers South and Southwest. When the officers arrived, two male students immediately ran away. After the suspects were caught, the police found out they hadn’t been fighting. They were arrested for fleeing and resisting arrest.
Suspicious behavior
• Two males have reported being approached by a male in a men’s restroom in Brown Hall and asked to do inappropriate things. One incident occurred on Monday, Nov. 9, and the other on Wednesday, Nov. 11. Police have only a generic description of the male, and the case is still under investigation.
• A female student reported being harassed through Facebook by her former roommates Monday, Nov. 9.
Campus police told both parties not to leave more messages.
Larceny, missing items
• A female student from Living Center Southwest reported her debit card stolen Tuesday, Nov. 10. Someone tried to use it at the ATM on campus many times, but no money has been withdrawn. The machine ate the card.
• A ring was reported stolen from Living Center Southwest on Wednesday, Nov. 11. A student last week had something stolen from a room, so another roommate checked their rooms for all their items. He then noticed his ring missing.
• Students from First Year Suites reported their rooms being broken into. The students had left for home Friday, Nov. 6 and when they returned on Nov. 9, they could not get into their room. They found a bobby pin lodged in the lock.
Even though the room had no damage, belongings had been moved around and sports drinks had been stolen. Police said they suspect it was a prank. The case remains open.
Property Damage
• A car was keyed in J-3 lot on Nov. 11. There are no suspects.
• Two parked vehicles were victims of hit-and-run incidents this week: one in D-Lot and the other in J-1. Both received damage to the driver’s side.
Minor in possession
• Twelve minor in possession citations were issued in two separate incidents Friday, Nov. 13.
In one, resident assistants were making their rounds when they heard people talking about how drunk they were. The RAs called University Police, who upon arrival found a room full of alcohol. Breathalyzer tests were given; three students and five nonstudents received citations.
In the other incident, student dispatchers heard loud music and called resident assistants. When the RAs entered the room, they found alcohol.
Three students and one nonstudent received citations.
