Domestic Abuse
Saginaw County Central dispatched campus police about a domestic assault in the kiosk on W. College Drive on Sunday, Oct. 4, at 2:56 a.m.
The male suspect called 911 saying his girlfriend had stolen his keys. When campus police arrived, an SVSU female student was walking away from the car. She had marks on her arms.
The young woman claimed she took his keys because he was intoxicated and she did not want him to drive. The man was identified and arrested, and his car was impounded.
Students get caught with alcohol, drugs
Two minor in possession misdemeanors were given out Friday, Oct. 2, at 2 a.m.
A resident assistant noticed a lot of noise coming from a room in Living Center North and called campus police. The police entered and found empty beer cans and liquor bottles. Seven students were in the room. Breathalyzer testing proved positive.
Two 17-year-old female students and one non-student male were issued minor in possessions on Saturday, Oct. 3.
Campus police received a call from an R.A. in Living Center Southwest at 1 a.m. to report having found alcohol in their room.
Five minor in possessions misdemeanors were issued Sunday, Oct. 4, at 1:41 a.m.
A resident assistant was notified of loud noises coming from a room. The R.A. knocked on the door and entered to find alcohol in the room. University Police was then notified.
Four 19-year-olds and one 20-yearold had alcohol in their systems. Campus police have issued a warrant for the 21-year-old for providing alcohol to minors.
Two minor in possessions were issued in the First Year Suites on Thursday, Oct. 8, at 1 a.m. An R.A. reported hearing loud sounds coming from a room. Campus police were dispatched and both students blew over the limit.
Two students in Living Center North received minor in possessions for marijuana Friday, Oct. 9, at 1:55 a.m. An R.A. entered the room and reported smelling the smoke.
The case is ongoing.
Trespassing
A 19-year-old male was charged with trespassing in First Year Suites. The man had been staying with his girlfriend for two weeks without getting the necessary pass. He has been told not to return.
Trash Can Fire
Campus police was dispatched Sunday, Oct. 4, after a trash can was reported on fire outside the Real Food on Campus eatery. It was quickly put out with an extinguisher. A cigarette butt appeared to be the starter. Property Damaged
One of the soccer fields white tents was found in the middle of Davis Road Friday, Oct. 4, with significant damage. The tents fabric had tears and its poles were bent. Police suspect it was taken for tailgating, because there was no wind that night. There are no suspects or leads.
The Genie Lift, a device used for aerial footage of football practice, was reported damaged Thursday, Oct. 8, at 10:40 a.m. The wires were pulled out and a key was stolen from the equipment.
