Constitutional rights in danger

I have read Patrick Konesko's article in the March 17 edition entitled "Speech rights endangered." I found his article to be excellent; it showed wisdom and common sense.
I wanted to elaborate on points he made in his article. I feel that as Americans many of our rights are in danger by our leaders who do not respect our Constitution and the Bill of Rights. I am an avid hunter and target shooter and my rights are under constant attack by leaders who do not respect the second amendment. These leaders attempt to pass legislation that impede and violate my rights to enjoy my chosen hobby. I believe leaders who do not respect and defend one right guaranteed in our Constitution will disrespect and attempt to restrict all our rights.
I feel that the Constitution is a complete package and our leaders need to protect all our rights under the Constitution. In addition to being a graduate student at SVSU, I am a law enforcement officer. When I accepted my position I took an oath that I would swear to support, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States. Our elected leaders should be bound by this same oath to defend the whole Constitution, not just the portions they agree with.
