Three basketball players garner end of season honor

While neither the men's or women's basketball teams made the postseason this year, three players ended their season with honor.
Men's junior guard Lawrence Ross, senior center Mike Zuiderveen, and women's junior forward LaTille Ross each gathered All-GLIAC honors last week, wrapping up the men's and women's basketball season.
Lawrence Ross, a 6-foot-3 guard from Battle Creek, was named a GLIAC North Division All-Conference second team athlete. He finished the season with 16.5 points and 6.1 rebounds per-game.
Lawerence's scoring and rebounding averages dipped a bit from 2006-07, where he averaged 17.2 points and 6.4 rebounds per game. However, he did manage to score a season high 29 points against Lake Superior State on Feb. 2, a team which he scored a career high 30 points against a year before.
Zuiderveen, a 6-foot-9 center from Kalamazoo, was named to the GLIAC North Division All-Defensive team. He finished the season with 10.2 points and 12 rebounds per game, which was good enough for third in the nation in rebounding.
The season was a large improvement for Zuiderveen. He managed to double his career scoring average, and quadruple his career rebounding average. He also spent one week as the nation's leading rebounder.
LaTille Ross, a 6-foot foward from Opelika, Alabama, was named a GLIAC North Division All-Conference second team athlete for her strong senior campaign, finishing with team highs in scoring and rebounding, with 15.9 points and 6.9 boards per game.
She led the women's team in scoring and rebounding for the second season in a row, and finished with two double-doubles.
