Two incidents of domestic violence reported
Two domestic violence cases occurred on campus in late January.
According to Sergeant Marc Strain, the campus community rarely sees cases of this nature.
"One domestic every year-and-a-half, two in one week," Strain said.
The first one was reported on Jan. 27 in Living Center South and involved a female student and her boyfriend, who was visiting her for the weekend. According to University Police, the student was physically assaulted by her boyfriend, who wouldn't allow her to leave her room until he left campus.
The student took out a personal protection order against her boyfriend.
The other case occurred on Jan. 28 in G-House. Police say a student's sister, a minor, was staying with her and an incident took place that led the student to assault her sister. The older sister went to jail and the younger sister went to the hospital.
The student is back on campus with restrictions.
Unwelcome visitors tread on campus
Suspicious men have been reported on campus.
Police say the first incident occurred on Jan. 26 near University Village at 10 p.m. The suspect was described as a white male wearing blue jeans and a white jacket.
The first incident occurred on Feb. 5 in Science East. The suspect, a non-student, was reported following females around in Starbucks and Einstein's Eatery. Police said he would sit down and start talking to women he didn't know. University Police escorted him off campus.
The last incident occurred in Living Center South on Feb. 6. Two males were reported entering someone's room.
Disturbances reported at Campus Village
University Police were called to Campus Village, formerly known as the Cardinal Townhomes, on Feb. 1.
Police went to the Village twice, first around midnight to break up a disturbing party and to issue a warning.
There were "...beer bottles everywhere, cars parked everywhere," Strain said.
Three parked cars were damaged by empty beer bottles and a bicycle that was thrown.
University Police were called back over around 1:45 a.m. and MIPs were issued.
