Spikers sweep up in Pennsylvania, take close one over Northwood

SVSU's volleyball team left SVSU and came back two games ahead, sweeping conference opponents Mercyhurst and Gannon 6-0. The squad was 96 kills richer by the end of the week, with junior outside hitter Sarah Redoute and senior outside hitter Danielle Dryer leading the pack, combining to post 32 kills over the Lakers and the Golden Knights. Junior libero Carmen Schacher led the defense with 15 digs over the week.
The team returned to Michigan to face Northwood, and ended up taking a win away after a 5-set war. Redoute led the offense in the game with 20 kills, while Schacher posted a career-high 25 digs on defense. The win puts SVSU on top of the GLIAC North Division, which they are looking to clinch standing at 7-6 in conference competition (18-8 overall).
