October 5

  • Possible ID theft reported.
  • Fire alarm in University Village. Individual was burning coal on the stove. The situation was handled internally by Housing Services.
  • Department assist. Multiple MIPs reported at Michigan Rd. and Pierce Rd.
  • Malicious destruction of property in University Village West. Vehicle was keyed.

October 7

  • Two MIPs issued in University Village.
  • Property damage accident in E-lot. Two vehicles collided.
  • Medical call. Individual injured their arm while attending the football game and was transported to the hospital.

October 8

  • False fire alarm in University Village.
  • Assault and battery in University Village. The incident remains under investigation.
  • Harassing communications to a professor's office reported.
  • Larceny of wallet from University Village.

October 9

  • Department assist to Saginaw County. Breaking and entering on Bay Road.
  • Department assist to Carrollton Township. Individual carrying a concealed weapon.

October 11

  • Medical assist in the Performing Arts Theatre. Individual appeared to be having a seizure and declined medical treatment or transportation to the hospital.
  • Suspicious person reported in University Village.
  • Hit and run vehicle accident in D-lot.
  • Larceny of books in a book bag from RFoC.
  • Malicious destruction of property in Ryder Center West men's bathroom. The toilet dispenser appeared to be ripped off the wall.

October 12

  • Department assist to Saginaw County following a 911 hang-up.
  • Individual refusing to leave reported in University Village. Incident continued with suspect resisting a police officer.

October 15

  • Escaped juveniles at Wickes Stadium. The youths were apprehended.
  • Stalking complaint. The incident remains under investigation.

October 16

  • Manufacture of marijuana in Living Center North. The incident is still being handled.
  • Citation issued for expired license. Original stop was for an equipment violation.

October 17

  • Four MIPs issued at the football game.
  • Malicious destruction of property in Science West bathroom. The plastic sign holders were taken out of the men's bathrooms.
  • Larceny of jeans in First Year Suites. Incident being investigated as part of ongoing roommate difficulties.
  • Assault and battery in First Year Suites. The incident in being handled by Student Conduct Programs.

October 18

  • Department assist to Michigan State Police for a report of a suspicious person.
  • Two car accident resulting in property damage on Davis Rd. and Freeland Rd.
  • Larceny of textbooks from Zahnow Library.
  • Assault to commit sexual contact reported in University Village. One person was arrested.

October 19

  • Operating while intoxicated at Bay Road. and Pierce Road. One arrest was made. Original stop was made for a burnt out head light.
  • Home invasion reported in University Village East. Police have a description of the intruder, but no suspects. The incident remains under investigation.

University Police recently apprehended the individual responsible for many of the thefts of textbooks on campus. As a result, many of the textbooks have been recovered and remain at the University Police station. Any individuals still missing books are encouraged to identify and pick them up as soon as possible.

Campus residents: While SVSU is normally a safe campus, it is by no means crime-free. Please remember to always lock all doors and windows. Remember especially to lock bedroom doors while you are sleeping to keep yourself and your belongings safe.
