Inclement weather forces a no contest between GVSU and Ashland
The contest between #1 Grand Valley and #25 Ashland was canceled due to repeated lightning strikes Saturday night. GVSU led 14-6 in the second quarter before the came was called. GVSU hosts Findlay next week.
Northwood wins barn-burner in Findlay
#13 Northwood won a tight decision against Findlay on Satruday, 21-17. The Timberwolves' offense was highlighted by fullback Torris Childs, who rushed for 127 yards with one touchdown. The win improves Northwood to 2-0 overall and in the GLIAC.
Mercyhurst stuns Ferris 42-23
The Bulldogs had no answer to Mercyhurst's ground attack, especially junior running back Richard Stokes. Stokes rushed for a career-high 244 yards with three touchdowns. Ferris heads to SVSU this Saturday looking to avenge the upset.
Big second half lifts Tech over Indy
Michigan Tech recorded its eighth straight GLIAC win over the University of Indianapolis on Saturday, relying on five touchdown passes from quarterback Steve Short - including two in the second quarter - for the win. The victory brings the Huskies to 2-0 in the GLIAC and 2-1 overall.
