LOSING STREAK -
The nation's colleges and universities have bonded together again to mourn the victims and support the families of those slain at Northern Illinois University, one of several college shootings in the U.S. and abroad in the recent months. »
The Wall Street Journal is my favorite newspaper. It's also the best selling newspaper in the country. I don't count USA Today because their subscription data is tainted by hotel contracts. I can remember eagerly anticipating the prospect of and subsequent News Corporation takeover of the classic newspaper this summer. It's an entirely commercial occasion to "celebrate your love." Can I not do that on Feb. 15? Apparently not. Am I required to do it with roses or flowers or chocolate? Apparently. Still, for all of the holiday's inanity, I found myself walking by the RFoC last week disgusted by the further degradation of an already-debased occasion - condom-flower-bouquet Valentine's (three or four multicolored condoms and ribbons attached to a stick). »
