Senate hears testimony on appropriations

The Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Higher Education met in the Emeriti Room last Monday, where several administrative officials testified before State Senators Mike Prusi, Mike Goschka, and Shirley Johnson. After hearing testimony from many collegiate officials over the past few weeks at Michigan State University, Kettering University, and Western Michigan University, the Subcommittee capped off its traveling hearings at SVSU in a 2 hour session. »

A new snack option debuted on campus Wednesday with the opening of Freshens, a long-anticipated ice cream, smoothie, and pretzel shop located in the old Java City location adjacent to the C-Store. »

Students help build homes in Guyana

But for a group of SVSU students who traveled to the tiny South American country of Guyana over spring break, spending all day caked in dirt and sweat doing hard labor made for a trip worth taking. »

Group works with sexual assault victims in Greenville, South Carolina
